Find out about some of our current employee’s careers and how they have developed within the company
“I started working for one of KFCs Franchisees 19 years ago, at their Tarpots store, whilst I was a student doing a graphic design & technology course. I worked as a Team Member for 2 years at the weekends and in the evenings. I was then offered the opportunity to be a weekend supervisor.”
“When I finished my course, the job opportunities were sparse in graphic design and I had really enjoyed my role, so I rejoined KFC and soon became an Assistant Manager. I am now a Restaurant Manager running my own busy KFC.”
“I love the KFC brand and the Franchisee I work for is a really family friendly company - I have always been made to feel special which has helped me to enjoy the job even more – it gives me flexibility and it’s certainly never boring!”
“I joined KFC in February 1999 as an Area Manager. Following three months of intensive training I took on responsibility for 10 Restaurants in South East London and quickly realized that this was a company that offered the option to develop a varied and interesting career with huge opportunities.
Whilst 1999 was a year of learning and consolidation, 2000 and 2001 were extremely successful for my Area as we won Area of the year in 2 successive years. In 2003, I was given the opportunity to transfer to the Franchise Department as a Franchise Business Manager looking after 20 Franchise accounts. The role was varied and involved advising the Franchisees on Operations issues and liaising between the Development department and the Franchisees to help develop new store opening strategies.”
“I joined KFC in 1989 as a Team Member and in 2006, was promoted to the role of Team Leader. Working at KFC allows me to work flexibly around my family.”
Baksho readily admits she really enjoys working for KFC, she loves the challenge and gets a great deal of pleasure in making customers happy. She thrives on the great results the store team is achieving and she likes the direction in which the Company is going. Since her time at KFC, Baksho has had 3 children and found that the Company was very flexible with her hours and allowed her to work them around bringing up her children.
Baksho has devoted 18 years of her life to KFC and is looking forward to working with the Company until she retires.
“I joined KFC as a Trainee Assistant Manager in 1992 and was promoted to Restaurant Manager in 1995, then appointed as a training Restaurant Manager in 1998. I am now an Area Coach running a very successful area of 9 restaurants with 235 employees in North London.”
“What I love about KFC is the people - I work with some wonderful colleagues, peers and teams in my stores. I thoroughly enjoy being an Area Coach because there is NEVER a dull moment! One of the reasons I have been with KFC so long is that the people I work with are a great support network day to day, which makes the job so satisfying.”
“I have won Area Coach of the Year 3 times, in 2002, 2005 and in 2006. I also have a “Winner Award” from our Managing Director, and a Champion of Restaurant Excellence Award. It’s wonderful to be recognized for just doing your job!”
“I am just about to return from maternity leave, after having my second child. I have 2 daughters, one of them 4 years old and a baby of 7 months and I have no doubt that I will continue to be able to work my role around my young family when I return to work in a few weeks time.”
I started working with KFC in May 1999 as a Restaurant General Manager for a new store opening. The challenge that working in store brings keeps the job fresh and is hugely satisfying. Developing and working with a really good team led to achieving entry to the prestigious Champions Club 2 years in a row, which was a fantastic experience and an example of just one of the ways KFC rewards great performance.
I have had the pleasure of working in a broad range of restaurants, which has really helped my own personal development.
One of the most satisfying elements of KFC is the true passion that training & developing a workforce is executed, the structure is getting better and better year on year as the experience grows throughout the company and I am proud to be part of that.
I am now moving on to my next journey within the KFC system as an Asset Protection Officer and look forward to executing it with great pride and belief in the How We Work Together principles.
“I Joined KFC Paignton in 2005 as a part time team member, it was a great way to earn some extra cash. I initially worked on the front counter and then progressed through various roles in store including burger station, drive thru and cook. Flexibility is an important thing for a KFC team member and we always consider the customer in everything we do. I really like the atmosphere in store, we have great fun - everyone gets on great and we regularly socialise outside of work. I am hoping to progress to Team Leader level soon and my management team have already been helping me prepare for the sign off process!”
