KFC is committed to positive and constructive engagement with trade unions. This page provides information for trade union representatives who wish to contact us or make a request for access to a KFC workplace in England, Wales or Scotland.

MAKING A TRADE UNION REQUEST

Qualifying trade unions have a statutory right to request access to workplaces for certain purposes. 

We encourage trade unions making a statutory access request to use the Government's Trade Union Access Request Form Template. Providing all of the information requested will help us review and respond to your request as efficiently as possible. Once completed, please send your request to: KFC.tradeunioncommunications@yum.com 

KFC operates a franchise model and KFC-branded restaurants may be operated by different employing entities.  Access requests should therefore identify the relevant employer and workplace(s).  If you require information to help identify the appropriate employing entity before making an access request, please contact KFC.tradeunioncommunications@yum.com. 

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? 

Once we receive an access request, we will review it in accordance with the applicable statutory requirements and Code of Practice. 

We may contact the trade union representative named in the request to discuss the proposed access arrangements and any relevant practical considerations. 

Depending on the request and circumstances, access arrangements can include physical access to a workplace and/or digital communication with workers. 

KFC FRANCHISE RESTAURANTS

KFC restaurants in the UK include restaurants operated by independent franchisees. 

Where an enquiry or access request relates to workers employed by an independent KFC franchisee, the relevant franchisee is the employer and therefore is responsible for responding to requests concerning its workers and workplaces, and within the statutory deadlines where appropriate. 

If your request needs to be directed to one KFC franchise owner, then we will forward the request on by email, connecting you with the franchise owner. If your request concerns restaurants owned by more than one KFC franchise owner then we will respond to you directly by email, letting you know which franchise owner owns each restaurant, and you will need to make the access request to each franchise owner directly. The time limit for responding to a statutory access request will only start to run once the request is received by the correct employing entity.
